After thirty years of 'occupation' the citizens of the small Martian colony have declared independence. It's a time for a new beginning - but powerful forces back on Earth want the planet back and the ballance of power is shifting... This is the story of ordinary people caught up in a conflict which will decide the future of the entire solar system. History is being written around them and each one will be called upon to play their part.

In the Mars of 2116, there are three main settlements:
  • Alpha (Population 3,000) plus Terran forces
  • Prometheus (Population 4,000)
  • Thor (Population (3,000)
There are also a number of settlements, farms, factories and shelters on the Great North Road and around the Hellas basin. The Great North Road area was abandoned soon after the invasion, and many residents of Alpha fled to Prometheus along the Long Road.
